Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid CA Driver’s License
  • Caregiving: 2 year (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year recent full time experience in a human services delivery system.
  • DSP 1 and 2Certification (Preferred)

Primary Responsibilities:

The Program Instructor will be responsible for implementing programming for individuals, executing goals of Restricted Health Plans / Behavior modification plans and documenting daily progress for assigned individuals. Provide individual supervision during transportation as needed.;Responsible for the development of individuals’ social skills, work habits and talents in an occupational work-related environment.;;

  • Become thoroughly familiar with the program training plans, IPP and Restricted Health Condition Care Plans for each consumer they provide support to in the program.
  • Understand behavior support techniques and how to correctly implement them.
  • Document incidents when they occur.
  • Maintain current ID notes and data frequency count on each consumer assigned to them following IPP objectives.
  • Assist consumers in all areas of grooming and personal hygiene skills.
  • Perform basic medical treatment as prescribed and provide first aid as needed.
  • Supervise consumer during meals and snacks to assure safety
  • Report observations or evidence of consumer rights.
  • Support consumers thru skills and job trainings along with community integration as determined by consumer's IPP/ISP.
  • Assist in all mobility skills and adaptive equipment.
  • Work on; attention span, learning skills, coordination skills, and Picture Exchange communication System (PECS symbols) as developed by the consumer's ISP.
  • Assist with socialization skills required for functioning successfully in society and community.
  • Insure that the consumer is safe and secure in their surroundings and/or during an activity.
  • Participate in consumer's assessment, planning and evaluation processes.
